Kindness allows us to overlook the boundaries of race, religion and to care for everyone as citizens of the world. Everyone’s idea of kindness is different. Each year the beautiful act of kindness is appreciated throughout the world on the 13th of November. It was introduced in 1998 by the World Kindness Movement. It is observed by many countries and to celebrate this day, in our own unique way we have decided to share with you what our youth has to say about Kindness.
As said by Mark Twain, “Kindness is that language that a deaf can hear and a blind can see.” I like the concept of this day because it teaches us to treat others the way we would want ourselves to be treated. Be kind to people not only on this particular day but try to make every day World Kindness Day. Spread as much love, positivity and kindness as you can. Play your part and try to make this planet a better place to live.
Kindness is putting someone before me and my interests. Kindness is forgiving someone when you have the power to punish. Kindness is sharing what you hold dear. Kindness is thinking about others without expecting anything in return. Kindness adds sanity to the otherwise chaotic world we live in. We all should be kinder to others.
John Weasly said, “Do all the good you can. By all the means you can. In all the ways you can. In all the places you can. At all the times you can. To all the people you can. As long as you can.” No act of kindness is ever wasted. Kind words can be short and easy to speak but their echoes are truly endless. Plant kindness and you will gather love. As is said, do good have good. So, be your best version and spread as much kindness as you can!
“Beginning today, treat everyone you meet as if they are going to be dead by midnight. Extend to them all the care, kindness and understanding you can muster, and do it with no thought of any reward. Your life will never be the same again.”- Og Mandino. This is what I believe in because life is too short for regrets. So live it as the other one will be there no more the very next day. Treat everyone with kindness. That’s all they ask for.
What is kindness? Kindness is being able to help others or if one cannot help, then at least provide verbal support to motivate the other person. Kindness also means to help those who can never repay for your actions. Even a sentence spoken to encourage someone is kindness, because kindness is the person’s openness to accept others as they are.
I believe kindness is one of the qualities that humanity needs the most, especially in today’s world. Kindness sums up the qualities of being generous, humble, considerate, friendly and forgiving. A kind person is a likeable and approachable person, so I think we should be kind every day, not just for one day. The idea of spreading kindness by assigning a day to it however is also great! There’s no hard and fast rule to being kind. To me, kindness is understanding and helping someone. It’s as simple as that.
Kindness is magic. Adopt it and have the change! If you show your kindness, respect or love then everybody will respect you, will pay you back of your kindness or they will stop showing their unkindness towards you. People tend to take kindness for granted I think this is a big problem, kindness can move mountains as mark twain said “Kindness is a language that the deaf can here and blind can see.” In the end I will say have a positive attitude and be kind.
November 13th is the day on which World Kindness Day is celebrated. It’s a day where everyone looks past stereotypes and misfortunes. It’s a day to perform a random act of kindness and show the world that we are all in this together.“Be kind for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle”, goes the saying from the great mind of Plato. Being kind to others is what our parents and teachers never get tired of telling us. The sad part is that it’s easily said than done. The world showers us with so much pressure with the problems we face, and doing bad deeds is what we think will do good for us because we want the easy way out. If there’s only one thing that would answer the endeavours of man in his whole lifetime, that would be “kindness”. If kindness is greatly shared with one another it is not hard to imagine a peaceful and wonderful world ahead of us.

Kindness, for me, is a conscious effort to take care of those around. It means rather than just the monetary help, which itself solves many a problems considering we are citizen of a third world country, kindness for me is spending quality time. Listening to the problems and fears, giving suggestions and alternatives and making yourself available to the friends, family and acquaintance. Satisfaction that one attains from helping others is unrivalled and priceless. If one persists and adapts to practicing kindness as a hobby, life will be good beyond all measures. Being a shoulder to someone sad, reason of little happiness or smile to someone, an unexpected midnight birthday cake, Eid clothes for maid’s son, supply of books for under privileged kid’s education, occasional helping hand to your untiring mother, nurturing a wounded stray dog/cat or simply removing a stone from the passerby’s way; act of kindness comes in all shapes and sizes for you to choose from!
Often at times I ask myself, what is kindness? What is it so important to be kind? A little while I pondered and then I realized that kindness is to share and spread love despite the differences that you have with people; kindness is giving a fair advice without being judgmental. Kindness is to be open with your loved ones and to accept their feedback without feeling bad. Kindness to me, is to feel blessed at an ordinary day, it is to feel a sudden sense of happiness, joy and appreciation at other people’s triumphs and achievements, despite my own troubles and shortcomings. Kindness is to deal positively with a friendship, knowing about the hard times and being able to deal with it with a good heart. Kindness is to feel thankful and have faith. Kindness brings you closer to God. It brings you closer to yourself, attain enlightenment and cherish a true sense of self. Kindness is divine.
“Kindness is like snow that beautifies everything on which it falls”, according to my point of view true kindness is pure inside of any person. Kindness and forgiveness go hand in hand, for to be kind is to recognize where the other person has been. To act in kindness is to act for the best for all. Kindness helps another in time of need, yet kindness gives to one what they need, but not more than that. Kindness is not about doing for another they are ready to learn to do for themselves and therefore taking that opportunity from them. Kindness is stepping back and allowing another to make their own mistakes and work through their lessons because this is the best way to learn. It is not kindness to “help” a butterfly emerge from its cocoon because then it has no strength in its wings to fly. Kindness is a beautiful and can provide peace of mind, respect and above all love from the society.
Kindness is respecting one. Kindness is showing gratitude. Kindness is being by one’s side when they need it most. Kindness is sticking to one when others leave him/her. Kindness is making the crying one laugh. Kindness is helping one in studies without acting patronizing or superior. Kindness is helping the one who’s being bullied. Kindness is calling someone beautiful. Kindness is complimenting one on their best feature, talent etc. Choose one form of Kindness. That’s all this world need.

Kindness is an act of goodness for others without any expectations in return. However, it rewards the doer with the greatest wealth of inner peace, contentment and a smile. Kindness may not necessary involve huge efforts or money, kindness is a very doable act. Anything done just one step above the expectations, in good intention, becomes kindness! It touches the heart and brings about a huge impact which continues to spread out as ripple effect. To me kindness is the language of the heart, which a deaf, blind and any specie having a heart, can understand.
